Bell Shipping Ltd is a privately owned United Kingdom based company which was established in 1996, with the specific objective of serving ship owning and industrial clients worldwide with shipbroking, shipping and ship finance consultancy services.
Founder and managing director, Nigel Bell, qualified as a naval architect in 1972 from the university of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK - an institution with a longstanding maritime background. He has since been involved in shipping, predominately as a shipbroker, for the last 34 years. During his distinguished career he has been responsible for the sale & purchase of a vast number of second-hand and new building ships for shipowner clients.
Since the early 1980’s, Nigel was actively involved as a main board director of the London based, international shipbrokers, Galbraith’s, in building up the company’s services in developing shipping overseas markets including the Indian shipping industry.
Bell Shipping Ltd has services that range from ship sale purchase, project & finance consultancy, shipping market consultancy and project chartering.
In 1993 Nigel Bell joined the UK based subsidiary of a major Indian industrial group to head up the group’s expansion into international non-Indian flag shipping.
This included the purchase, finance and employment of one of the largest ultra modern double hull suezmax tanker fleets and operating four handymax bulk carriers in a major Norwegian dry bulk pool of which he was a board member.
Responsibilities also included being director of the group’s India based, ship management company and an alternate director of the one of the principal P and I clubs in London.
Bell Shipping co-sponsored the "Indian Shipping Conference 2001" held in May 2001 in London, the first ever high profile Indian shipping conference to be held outside of India.
Bell Shipping operates its shipbroking activities in association with bright cook & co, conveniently located in west London. A small team of highly experienced associates serve the shipping industry worldwide with clients and correspondents in every maritime country. This service is enhanced by the most accurate and up-to-date market information enabling the team to offer a personal and well-informed service to our clients.
Activities include sale and purchase of secondhand and sewbuilding vessels, period chartering and projects. Arranging of ship finance with international banks, including refinancing of existing vessels, is available to clients on new projects.
Bell Shipping has developed a particular service which is available to new and existing clients for new projects, known as the "Added Value Package". Bell Shipping speciality has been to work for clients who are either new entrants to shipping or who are already in shipping but wish to diversify into other sectors of shipping.

Bright Cook & Co Ltd is a privately owned company with a team of highly experienced ship sale and purchase brokers. Bright Cook Holdings is a well established privately owned company with its main subsidiary being active in ship sale and purchase (S&P).
Founded in April 1987 by two partners, Richard Bright and Charles Cook, the company has grown steadily but solidly and the group, including associates, now consists of nine.
